I am longing to be in New York. So much so that I sometimes wish I could avoid the beautiful flood of Fashion Week images all together… but then I would miss moments like this! A Galliano-arised Oscar de la Renta collection that I certainly will not forget.

One of my absolute favourite sites is Gifenchy, created by Sydney designer Brendan Ginnane. Go on, ‘ava squiz…
You can’t always predict which purchases will become your most treasured items. Though I wouldn’t exactly use the word treasured for this dress, I have most certainly had my wear. So much so that my friends grew sick of it last Summer, and I don’t blame them. I’m on the hunt for a few dresses I can throw on as easily as this one, a shopping task more difficult than it seems! Don’t fear, I’m up for the challenge.
This Lanvin necklace plays nicely with the dress (it could play nicely with a paper bag) but unfortunately it weighs more than my head so I seldom wear it. One day though, I will purchase the matching ring and, naturally, take over the world…
It’s no secret that I’m a die-hard Lanvin fan. In fact it’s one of the most important reasons that I cannot get a credit card. If I owned a house to mortgage, I would be indulging in the labels every collection. And who can blame a girl when artistic director Alber Elbaz and his team of magical fairies give us treasures beyond our most lavish imaginations, season after season.
One of my absolute favourite items from the Spring/ Summer 2013 showings is the Lanvin ‘ARPEGE’ evening bag; a hand-polished black enamel case, trimmed with gold clasp and gold snake handle. The bag is a tribute to the 85 years of Arpège fragrance, resembling the black ball bottle designed by Armand Albert Rateau in 1927.
Did I mention it’s available this month? Sigh…
Apologies to all of my die-hard fans for my A-class disappearing act (if you don’t include my mum, I think that’s about 3 people). However, I return to the blogosphere in 2013 with plenty of big ideas rolling around in my tiny little head. Style On By will receive a mini makeover, the first addition to which is ‘Today I’m Wearing’. As for the rest of the posts, you will have to wait and see…
Shortly after the success of the Anna Dello Russo collection, H&M is gearing up for the release of its latest- and highly anticipated- collaboration, to hit shelves November 15. Belgian fashion house Maison Martin Margiela has offered the high street giant a slice of its unique aesthetic, best recognised for exaggerated silhouettes, masculine tailoring and continuously avant-garde design. I for one am very excited. I’ve already selected the accompaniments of a certain white coat. But what do you think?
Firstly, if you have not yet seen Beyoncé’s Tumblr, then hop to it over yonder! Beyoncé… amazing. So upon perusing said Tumblr I found the above image of the goddess herself wearing a pretty groovy body chain. Body chains are no revalation but they have made a serious come back in mainstream fashion as of late, which presented me with a good opportunity for a DIY moment.
